Smart Oil produces sustainable vegetable oil, intended particularly for power generation, by developing an agro-industrial jatropha project in Ghana.

Jatropha is a high-yield oil crop that satisfies all the environmental and social sustainability criteria set for projects in developing countries, as defined by the European Parliament’s Directive 2009/30/EC. The produced oil will also be used locally, both for electricity generation and transportation as biodiesel.

Smart Oil was spun out of Futuris in 2013.
