Investment Strategy |
CLEAN ENERGY INVESTMENT FOCUS
- Fjord invests in clean energy companies at commercialization and growth stage as well as in companies in need of restructuring
- Deal sourcing is proprietary, largely in special situations, through the principals’ private networks
- We do not invest in early-stage technology, and only invest in infrastructure in development phase
- Our perspective is global but with a focus on Europe, whereby portfolio companies often operate worldwide
- We distinguish between three investments types:
1. Supply side: renewable energy including wind, solar, biomass, and biofuels
2. Demand side: energy efficiency
3. Intermediaries: specialized financial services, carbon project development and trading
